The family or Sunday afternoon walk trail:
On winding paths, through primeval forest and over old postal routes, the trail leads to a beautiful water lily pond, to the Jewish cemetery and to a lookout point with a magnificent view over the Hunsrück into the Soonwald. In the middle of the forest, surrounded by overgrown bushes, an idyllic meadow invites you to have a picnic.
At the end of the trail, you can experience the damage and consequences of the hurricane-like storm of 2007 up close on the "Kyrill" storm-throw adventure trail.
Ideal trail for beginners, suitable as a family tour and recommended as a short hike in between.
Length: 7.5 km

Brief description

The family-friendly hike leads over old postal routes and narrow forest paths. On the way, a view over the Soonwald heights that seem to be within reach and in the middle of the forest a water lily pond with a picnic area. At the end of the day, the “Kyrill” storm throwing adventure trail invites you to a special hiking and forest experience.

Length: 7.4 km
Walking time: 2.5 hours
Incline / 92 m each

Demand: The Burgstadt path overcomes a total of only 92m ascents and descents, which are consistently very flat. However, sturdy footwear is recommended, as some path sections in particular can be slippery in wet weather.

Start / finish: car park at BurgStadt-Hotel Further entry: car park at L219 Gammelshausen (800m approach)
