The scenic views are also very beautiful at Voßhöfen, where this highlight is located. The whole region around the Elbschetal near Wengern is beautiful to hike, despite some routes being a bit asphalt-heavy. But you are always compensated by beautiful nature trails and these great views.

Volmarstein is a district of Wetter (Ruhr) in the Ennepe-Ruhr district, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany). Until 1969, the town, located south of the Ruhr, was an independent municipality in the Volmarstein district.

The district comprises the two districts 1347 Grundschöttel (7.99 km²) and 1349 Volmarstein (3.07 km²) with a total area of around 11.06 km².[2] Volmarstein is located in the southeast of the city of Wetter and is surrounded - starting from the north and going clockwise - by the Herdecke district, the Wetter district (Alt-Wetter district), the Hagen districts Vorhalle and Westerbauer, the Gevelsberg districts Berge and Silschede as well as the Wetter districts Esborn and Wengern.

The lowest point in the district is about 81 m above sea level. At an altitude of 266 m above sea level (average water level), the Ruhr is in the very north of the Volmarstein district.[3] The highest point is in the area Am Südhang (266 m above sea level) in the Grundschöttel district on the border with Silschede.
