Linz am Rhein is a town in the district of Neuwied in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate near the border with North Rhine-Westphalia, about 25 kilometers south of the city center of Bonn. It belongs to the municipality of the same name and is the administrative headquarters. Linz is a state-recognized tourist resort and designated according to state planning as a center.
Because of its many colorfully and artistically designed old town houses, Linz also calls itself "The Colorful City on the Rhine".
