This crystal-clear mountain lake lies between Daubenhorn (2,942 metres) and Rinderhorn (3,448 metres). Its high alpine location makes the hike around it an absolute highlight. It is about two hours' brisk walking from the Sunnbüel mountain station, and its southern end is right on the Gemmi Pass. The lake is not just a popular destination for hikers: Due to its good wind conditions, it is not uncommon to watch kite surfers flying at over 2,200 metres.
