The quarry in Nowiny, located on the south-eastern slope of Krzyżowa Góra near the village of Nowiny, is a picturesque and extensive rock recess hidden in a pine forest, approximately 200 meters from the Susiec-Józefów road. Although it is currently closed, its two-hundred-meter-high walls allow you to take a closer look at the geological structure of Roztocze. From their top there is a panorama of the Solska Forest.

The quarry was the site of Miocene limestone exploitation for many years. A characteristic feature of this place are numerous small shells, easily removed from the fragile stone.

Quarry in Nowiny - is located on the south-eastern slope of Krzyżowa Góra, near the village of Nowiny, at a distance of about 200m from the Susiec - Józefów road (driving from Suśca 100 m behind the Błudka board, we turn right into an unpaved road). It is a picturesque, extensive, rocky hollow hidden in a pine forest. The quarries are currently closed. Two-hundred-meter long and several-meter-high walls allow to take a closer look at the geological structure of Roztocze. A panorama of the Solska Forest sounds from their top. The attraction of the quarry are numerous small shells that are easily removed from brittle stone. The Miocene limestone was exploited for many years in this quarry. Prisoners (Home Army soldiers) from the Błudek camp also worked there. They crushed stone with pickaxes and crowbars, which were transported by narrow-gauge railway to the nearby PKP station. From rocks with a higher calcium oxide content, local people once burned limestone in primitive kilns.
