    The Seceda summit is probably the most crowded mountain in the Dolomites these days... You should arrive before 8 a.m., because the first cable car takes you up at 8:00 or 8:30 a.m. Before that, you'll have peace and quiet, but afterward, it gets very busy and crowded. Those arriving on foot are best advised to take the ascent from Selva or the Cristauta parking lot... Once you get to the top, most people aren't interested in the Seceda itself. Because everything revolves around the view from the Seceda to the Odle Group... Although the panoramic view from the Seceda summit itself is certainly not to be sniffed at: you get a fantastic panoramic view. As of September 2025, there's a turnstile at one of the entrances to the Seceda with a €5 entrance fee, but you can avoid this!

          On foot from Santa Cristina you have to walk a couple of hours at a normal pace. I recommend leaving the car at the "Cristatua" parking lot

            The descent in the Panascharte is a dream. In contrast to our first visit in 2017, a lot has changed. The climb was complete. newly created and in the current state 07/2020 can be described as very safe.

                        The Seceda can be reached quickly and easily with the cable car from Ortisei. From here you can start great hikes in different directions: To the Geissler Group, Panascharte, Regensburger Hut or simply back to the Val Gardena to St. Ulrich or St. Cristina.

                                              On the sunny side of Val Gardena, at the foot of the Odle group. The view over the Val Gardena (Ortisei and the Alpe Rasciesa), on the Alpe di Siusi (with the Sassolungo and the Sasso Piatto) is wonderful, and then again on the Sella and the Puez-Odle Group overlooking the Val di Funes.
