The Strausbergalpe is located at an altitude of 1227 m, above the Strausbergmoos, surrounded by the Imberger Horn, Strausbergsattel, Gernkopf and Sonthofner Hörnle. The alp was first mentioned in history in 1663 and was then known as "Roßberg". In 1900, ownership passed to Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria. The alp has been privately owned since 2003.

For almost 50 years, already in the third generation, we, the Buhl family from Sonthofen-Winkel, have been tending and catering to the alp. In 2001, we converted the farming in the valley and the entire alp to organic farming (Bioland). During the summer, 30 young cattle, two cows, three pigs, five sheep and two donkeys from our valley farm are allowed to go to the alp.

On the beautiful terrace with a view of the Hindelang via ferrata, Rotspitze and Nebelhorn, our visitors can enjoy the wonderful mountain landscape while the children let off steam on the small playground and get to know the alpine animals. When it rains, we have a cozy parlor.
