The church in Dittersbach was first mentioned in 1346 in the "Meißner Register". After a fire, the church was rebuilt, but without the tower and organ. The church tower was completed after about 60 years (1722). The famous and still very well preserved organ was installed in 1726.
The interior painting of the church deserves special mention. As patrons, the Dittersbach castle owners had rights and duties to the church. The Silbermann organ, the tower clock and the crucifix are gifts from the respective castle owners.

A Baroque hall church, rebuilt after a fire in 1662 as a plastered rubble stone building with segmental arched windows. On May 15, 1721, the foundation stone for a tower was laid, which was completed the following year, extending the nave into the tower.
