Since 1940, Jesus has watched over Esporles with outstretched arms.
The hike here is partly quite steep, leading through a pristine holm oak forest.
And, of course, there are beautiful views.
The inscription on the base reads: "Sagrat Cor de Jesús, el poble d’Esporles confia amb vos," which translates as "Sacred Heart of Jesus, the people of Esporles trust in you."

Here is the impressive statue of Christ "Sagrada Corazón de Jesús". From the platform below the statue one also has a very nice view of Esporles.

The statue in and of itself is beautiful. But the view of Esporles and the surrounding area from there is breathtaking. The small detour from the hiking trail to this statue is very worthwhile.
