Since the castle was destroyed by a rockslide in 1480, the ruins have grown into the forest over the centuries. Children should be cautious around the castle; the walls and rocks are tempting to climb, and some parts are quite steep. There are no safety features directly at the castle, apart from a short bridge along the large wall.

To get to the view you need good shoes. Otherwise the hike is easy and the view is worth it! Very nice is the ruin Rixneralm
