A very nicely made souvenir of the former town of Langendorf, which, like many other towns, had to give way to opencast lignite mining.

In the early 1970s, the site had to give way to the lignite opencast mine Zukunft-West; the inhabitants were resettled and Langendorf was then dredged. The northern shore of the Blausteinsee is now where the village once was. Langendorf belonged to the parish of Lohn in the district of Jülich and was incorporated into the town of Eschweiler along with the surrounding towns of Erberich, Fronhoven and Laurenzberg on January 1, 1972, on the basis of the Aachen Law
