          In the city forest Ober-Ramstadt, the natural forestry is carried out, with no need for clear cuts, natural regeneration and reduction of wildlife.
          Forest is an ecosystem that is predominantly planted, with woody plants that are particularly long-lived and can accumulate high biomass. The stages of development in the forest run as a closed system in the cycle. The climate in the forest is more even than in the field, there is higher humidity, lower ground exposure and less air movement. After the oceans, the forest is the most important factor influencing the global climate. Because of these peculiarities, there are special animal and plant communities that live in the forest, interacting with each other, but also competing with each other. The biodiversity represents an invaluable gene pool.

          On the forest theme path Breitenstein you experience "our forest" with all senses. Everything worth knowing about the characteristics of the sycamore, the ash, the beech and the sessile oak as well as its location and its use are explained in stations.
          But also the sound of the woods, the recovery in the forest, forest damage, animals looking for housing and the forest floor are topics, which are explained in this path on the basis of 18 panels.
