This is really an impressive tree, which is very rarely seen in Germany when it is this old and strong. Trunk circumference is around 9 m.
The trunk circumference is difficult to measure because the tree is on a steep slope.

It looks even bigger in reality than in the photos. The deeply grooved bark that extends far up the trunk is impressive.

The short detour from the hiking trail to the tree is around 50 m and is definitely worth it.

Please note that the path to the tree is unsuitable for people with walking difficulties, wheelchair users and cyclists. They have to wait on the lovely little bench by the road.

The history of the tree is explained on an information board along the way.

Whether the tree is really 1000 years old is, in my opinion, unimportant, because it is certainly a few centuries old.

Simply super beautiful, mega impressive and imposing!
If this oak tree could talk... just before the small path to the oak tree, there is a nice little rest area opposite.
