For years a favourite walking and cycling spot for people from all over the region with clearly laid out paths and nowadays some extra facilities such as a beach. Perfect location for cyclists with many connections to other routes. It can certainly be quite busy in good weather and the noise of the motorway can - in some places and days (wind etc.) be prominent.

Tip: there are still places where you can enter the domain, especially if you do not want to see the central part where Fietscafé Surplas and the small beach and the dog play area connect. For example, you can go via the Donckstraat (side street of Tessenderloseweg) and there is a path for cyclists (turn left via the indicated road through the golf course before you reach the central part).

For those who want to walk mainly around the water or even sit quietly somewhere by the lake, there is an entrance (and limited parking) that is also used by fishermen. You will find it on the South-East side of the domain, just before you cross the highway bridge. Do check the regulations because they can change. But for pedestrians and cyclists no problem at all.

The Paalse Plas is a recreational domain with a 40-hectare lake. The entrance is located in the Holststraat. You will find the Bicycle Cafe, a playground, benches, a beach with swimming zone and an adventurous pirate playground. The asphalted path around the Paalse Plas is five kilometers long and is part of the cycle route network. It is eagerly used by walkers and cyclists. Going on the water is also possible. The Paalse Plas has been home to the sailing and windsurfing club Sirocco for years. There are demarcated zones and a number of fishing jetties for fishermen.
The beautiful golf course of Millenniumgolf, which is also part of the domain, makes the 'most beautiful place in the world' complete. (beringen.be/E_Loket/Products/R/Recreatie_Paalse_Plas)
