The building was built in 1936/37 as the official residence of the "SS-Burghauptmann" and administrative building. Today it houses the permanent exhibition "ideology and terror of the SS" of the districtism. Here, the history of the local SS activities and the local Niederhagen concentration camp is included in a nationwide general presentation of the SS. The Schutzstaffel (SS), its ideology and its unprecedented crimes are extensively discussed.
