A handrail to guide visitors protects the open sandy areas on the mulberry hump. For example, sand bees can create their nests in the ground undisturbed. Three large information boards explain how NABU, the City of Walldorf and the District Forestry Office have worked closely together in the project framework on the Maulbeerbuckel to create a "light island" as a habitat for animal and plant species that need light and warmth.

The dune is somewhat hidden in the Walldorf part of the forest and is simply beautiful to look at. Even in summer there is enough shade here.
