    About one kilometer northeast of Burg in Spreewald, the historically interesting Schlossberg rises 9 meters above the plain. At this point, a 27-meter-high tower was built in the years 1915-1917.

On the other hand, this building is a testimony of the Bismarck Memorial Movement, which left its mark on the whole of Germany after the death of the first German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck in 1898.

    The tower experienced a changeful history until today. By the beginning of World War II, thousands of visitors were climbing the tower; during the war he served as the observation point of the Luftwaffe; In 1951 it was renamed the "Tower of Youth", since autumn 1990 the tower is called Bismarckturm again.

    Over 26 steps leads to the first platform, 85 further steps lead to the second platform. If you want to reach the top, you can reach the octagonal tower via a narrow spiral staircase.
