Here is a nice view of the paddle pond near Etteln.
Why Teufelsstein (myth / legend?):
The devil watched as a missionary preached or wanted to convert Gentiles. He is said to have thrown a large stone at the missionary who stayed on the slope.

If you are on the pilgrimage route, the small detour to the Teufelsstein is definitely worthwhile. Apart from the striking rock formation on which the viewpoint stands, you have a fantastic view of the Altenau valley from here. And if the distant view is clouded by fog, then this place has something mystical about it.
