Beautiful and idyllic fishing village. The atmosphere and the great fish dishes are definitely worth experiencing. Very nice beach, wonderfully located.

"The listed fishing village of Vitt is located near the northernmost tip of the Wittow peninsula on the island of Rügen and is part of the Kap Arkona area monument. It is part of the municipality of Putgarten and is located directly on the cliffs in a riverside gorge. The name of the small village probably derives from Swedish "vittja", which means something like landing place or landing place. Because in the beginning, Vitt was really just a landing place for the fishermen who brought their catch ashore and processed it here. According to the Danish historian Saxo Grammaticus, Vitt is said to have existed as early as the 10th century. Century existed as a port and trading center for the Slavic Jaromarsburg at Cape Arkona.
