The stately Cadolzburg castle sits on a hill in the middle of the town of the same name. The first documented mention of it that we know of today dates back to the 12th century. In the following centuries, the complex was repeatedly expanded and extended. In the 14th and 15th centuries, it became the center of power of the Hohenzollerns in Franconia. It survived the Second World War only in ruins and had to be rebuilt. Today it houses the exhibition "Rule Times!" Also take a little time to stroll through the beautiful castle garden.
