There is a nice rest area here (2 benches with a sandstone table). - From the edge of the Nonnenfels you can look across to the Hardenburg.

The Nonnenfels is a large rock formation, including the remains of a fortification from the Middle Ages, which was part of the outer bailey of the Hardenburg (for the control of the Isenach valley). It was built at the beginning of the 13th century and was probably destroyed by French troops in 1692 during the War of the Palatinate Succession.

At the beginning of the 19th century the ruin was given the name "Nonnenfels" - named after a legend in which Adelinde (the daughter of a Leiningen count at the Hardenburg) lived here as a hermit nun and healer after she was banished from the Hardenburg by her father.
