The Elbe ferry Tanja connects District Road 19
with District Road 61 at kilometer 536.5 of the Elbe, thus connecting the towns of Neu Darchau and Darchau.
The ferry operates year-round and travels continuously between the two piers.
A crossing takes approximately five minutes. On weekdays, Tanja operates between
5:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m., and on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
In 2007, according to the company's own information, the ferry crossed the Elbe 60,000 times. An average of 495 cars and a total of 436,000 people were transported daily.
