Lübars is a town and a district of Möckern in the Jerichower Land district in Saxony-Anhalt. In 1187 the first documentary mention of the place is under the name Lubas. The municipality of Lübars was created on July 1, 1950 through the amalgamation of the municipalities of Groß Lübars, Klein Lübars-Riesdorf and Glienicke. The village church of St. Barnabas is worth mentioning. It dates from the late Romanesque period and is built in a classic style. In the west there is a mighty tower, the nave is very short, followed by the square choir, which is closed to the east by the semicircular apse.
