The mill was alternately fed from different mill ponds. The water from the Hommerbach (Mühlenbach) coming from the west was dammed in two ponds. In this way, the miller could alternately use water from different mill ponds. For the trained eye, the former upper ditch of the stream can still be seen in the profile of the meadow.

Hommermühle lies at the confluence of the Kalsbach and the Hommerbach. Only the mill building with millstones in the village bear witness to the eponymous water mill. The Hommer mill was originally a bone mill that was converted into a grain mill after a change of ownership. The mill was alternately fed from different mill ponds. The water from Hommerbach (Mühlenbach) coming from the west was dammed in two ponds. So the miller could alternately use water from different mill ponds. For the practiced eye, the former trench of the stream can still be seen in the meadow profile. The old house belonging to the mill was restored in the 1990s and is now a listed building. Opposite was the grain mill, the former location of which is now overbuilt.
