Already in the second half of the 16th century these special onions came to us over the Alps to Europe, and here in Gau-Odernheim they have been around since 1830. You can admire them from mid-late April in the vineyards on Lieberg, where the wild tulips feel comfortable in the permeable and nutrient-rich loess soil. Just imagine: the local winemakers take extra care and work the soil between the vines accordingly so that nothing happens to the plant! Unfortunately, we also saw specimens that were kicked over, but I am hopeful that the visitors will show consideration. Before the flower turns yellow, it is green and can therefore hardly be distinguished from the grass. In addition, some come from the earth sooner and some later; this delayed development is also known in humans.

Simply heavenly! The whole vineyard is full of wonderful golden yellow little wild tulips. You can see them very well from the path. So it is not absolutely necessary to walk around in the vineyard. Unfortunately, a lot of these little treasures are trampled on!
