ハイキング
Little can be seen of the castle itself. Carved steps and post holes, as well as plank gutters are the only remains of a former wooden castle. The lettering is carved into the wall of a rock chamber and means: "Backelstein - early medieval wooden castle". A staircase leads from the lower part of the castle to the top of the rock itself (not for those afraid of heights). From there you have a beautiful view of the Palatinate Forest and the Hauenstein Castle.

ハイキング
Archaeologists suspect that the complex dates from the 11th century. It was mainly built of wood and served as a refuge. There are only a few castle elements such as a rock chamber and stairs and various beam holes to see. A beautiful view of the Palatinate Forest is guaranteed.
