The Wasserbiblos estate has a turbulent history:
- In 908, Archbishop Hatto of Mainz, Abbot of Lorsch, received a church in Gernsheim and possessions in Wasunbifloz in exchange for certain goods from Count Liutfried.
1423 Lorsch Game Reserve
In 1541, Hesse returned the estate, confiscated in 1504, to the Lords of Cronberg on the condition that they receive it as a fief.
In the 16th century, according to a treaty of 1541, the Landgrave of Hesse had the high sovereignty of the land and the right to hunt for rupees, and to hunt throughout the entire district.
In 1692, with the extinction of the Cronberg family, the estate reverted to Hesse.
