The remarkable Wildenberg Castle represents the striking town center of Zernez. The small town is embedded in the mountains of the Lower Engadine / Munster Valley and is a popular starting point for tours in the Swiss National Park.
The oldest part of the castle dates back to the 13th century. Later, conversions and extensions took place. The castle was spared during the great village fire in 1872. Since 1956 it was owned by the municipality, and since 2007 it has been the seat of the national park administration. The castle is accessible to visitors as part of guided tours of the village.
