Schlanstedt with its castle was first mentioned in 1056. The church is named 1256. However, it was rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. Thus the architectural styles mix. The tower is from the Romanesque period and therefore has no west entrance. The ship is late Gothic with baroque window openings and the decor is baroque. Only the pulpit is in the Renaissance style (1621). The von Merrettich family played a key role in the renovation. There are pictures of her and a tombstone in the church.
The depiction of Saint Martin can be found as a figure on the roof and as a window over the entrance.
