Every year, the city of Munster organizes a so-called public cycling event with the Bundeswehr, and here the cyclists & Komootler have the opportunity to take a closer look at the village of Lopau (Munster-Nord).
Words like "ghost village" or "lapsed" are circulating on the Internet, which is no longer the case and you can easily see it in the pictures. The remaining houses and courtyards appear very well maintained.
Otherwise...the village was actually first mentioned in 1293 and it wasn't until 1983 that the last steadfast residents left the village!
Now it is used and maintained by the Bundeswehr
