    The RAF FK803 (Hudson type) with 4 crew members and 3 Belgian secret agents was shot down by an American fighter. The pilot managed to save himself with his parachute. The six graves are those of the other 3 crew members plus the 3 secret agents, who died in the fire of the accident. This place commemorates the madness of war.

        At 6:48 p.m., on the evening of March 20, 1945, a Lockheed Hudson aircraft took off from the British Luftwaffe Bazis RAF Tempsford. On board were four crew members, the pilot Flight Lieutenant Terrence Helfer, the navigator Flying Officer Henry Johnson, the radio operator Flight Lieutenant Raymond Escreer, all three English, and the New Zealand apron Flying Officer Forrest Thompson.

            On the night of March 20, 1945, the English Hudson FK803 was accidentally shot down on the return flight from a mission over the forest near Maulusmühle. Only the pilot was able to jump off in time. As a memorial to the senselessness of the war, the remains are still at the crash site.

                This Hudson transporter of the RAF crashed at this place on the 21st of March, 1945. In the accident all 3 Belgian and 3 British crewmembers lost their lives.

                A few years ago the wings, with propellors, lies left en right from the graves (picture 4). Now the remains are behind fences.

                The memorial and remains are not easy to find, but near the Maulusmühle the location is pointed out by road signs.

                The six crewmembers are buried here. Hotton War Cemetery contains three special memorials, a bit separated from the other graves, to commemorate the British crewmembers.
