We had a taxi organised from Jiankou. No public transport known.
The walk along the great wall from Mutianyu (about 2-3h), I did not record on Komoot) is first on an officially open, well rebuilt section, with the corresponding price tag and tourist croud. At the end of the touristic section, there is a small path on the left before the last steps up, allowing to continue forward along a wild section of the great wall, up to the start of this highlight section, which shows only the descent to a small village (Jiankou). For a reliable guided tour, contact jonnyzhangcn@hotmail.com. Jonny organised a good tour for us (group of 6) from Beijing.
