The barrel weighs five tons, the carriage one ton: no tourist in Warburg can get past the Fügeler cannon. The cannon set up on the roundabout today is a replica of the Warburg “Fügeler”. It was one of the largest guns of the late Middle Ages. "The Warburg Fügeler cannon was cast around 1500 by the Warburg gunner Manegold". The steel plaque on the cannon barrel still reminds of Master Manegold. The cannon was a gem that attracted the attention of Prince Bishop Franz von Waldeck. "He confiscated the Fügeler in order to use them against the Anabaptists in Munster". Whether a bullet was ever fired with her is uncertain, however. "In 1540 the cannon came back completely ruined to Warburg, where it was melted down".

Around 440 years later, the Warburger cast a new Fügeler, which was presented at the Kälkenfest 1979/1980. "The initiator was Dr. Albert Kröger, former managing director of the Warburger Heimat- und Verkehrsverein “, remembers his successor. The new pipe was manufactured by Anton Kröger, Christoph Dölle, Eckhardt Kröger and the apprentices from the Stelzer company. Years later, the cannon was then positioned on the roundabout.
