Station 26 of the Pegnitztal - Ost nature adventure trail, the "Fabrikgut Hammer", deals with the history of the property, the site and the factory. The area has been a listed building as an industrial history ensemble since 1977. It is freely accessible all year round and can be visited. The museum is open from Easter to October.

The Hammer factory estate is one of the most important fortified medieval industrial settlements in Europe. Brass products were manufactured in this hammer mill almost continuously from 1492 until it was destroyed in World War II. Today, an exhibition and the historic buildings, some of which date back to the 16th and 17th centuries, provide an insight into the more than 600-year history of the factory village and its early exemplary social system.
