A hiking trail leads from Postplatz in Stollberg to and around the dam. At many points on the hiking trail you walk right along the banks of the dam. The hiking trail leads in many places over "Stock and Steimn." Fixed footwear is appropriate.

The Stollberg dam dams the water of the Querenbach and is therefore often referred to as the "Querenbach dam". The reservoir, built between 1949 and 1954, went into operation in 1954 and will therefore celebrate its 70th birthday in 2024.
