The Adam and Eve House is the oldest surviving half-timbered house in Paderborn. It was built in the middle of the 16th century.

The Adam and Eve House is one of the most beautiful half-timbered houses in Paderborn. Built around 1560, this three-story, gabled half-timbered house is distinguished by its rich carvings. The carved frieze tells the story of Adam and Eve's fall from grace, culminating in their expulsion from Paradise, from left to right. This namesake frieze is a prime example of both Weser Renaissance architecture and the history of the Reformation. From 1977 to 2015, the house served as the Museum of City History. The building is currently being converted into an open library and will also house the administration of the city library (plans underway).
