From the 7th century BC, a site founded and inhabited by the Etruscans, of which the ruins of a temple and part of the mighty walls remain. Then the Romans settled in the first century BC by building the baths, the amphitheater (well preserved) and a temple. After the fall of the Roman Empire in the 5th century AD. this place lost its luster and its importance and prosperity declined.
