The small town of Werdenberg looks back on an 800-year history
The small town and castle of Werdenberg look back on an 800-year history. Werdenberg is one of the few remaining urban wooden settlements from the Middle Ages in Europe and is in the inventory of protected townscapes of national importance. Two museums provide insights into the history of the castle's development and show how the people lived in the small town.
The bistro in the castle courtyard invites you to enjoy. In addition to the impressive architecture, the picturesque town of Werdenberg offers many places where local handicrafts can be admired and purchased.
