The coastal region is connected to the forest area of the Ueckermünder Heide by a protected landscape area of around 260 km². Thanks to its harmony of water, forest and intact nature, the Szczecin Lagoon is the perfect holiday region for the whole family - discover something new every day and be out in the fresh air.
Moors, lakes, forests and meadows shape the natural paradise with height differences of up to 150 meters. An attentive nature observer could discover traces of feeding or perhaps one or the other castle of a beaver. The watercourses of the lakes and the numerous ditches are excellent hunting grounds for beavers.
The lagoon coast and large parts of the nature reserve inland offer kilometers of cycling and well-marked hiking trails. As a sailing area, the region, especially with the ports of Ueckermünde and Mönkebude, offers good conditions in terms of equipment and accessibility by water and land. Flat sandy beaches - bathing and paddling fun for all family members - await you in the region. Fishing and farming villages with a history of more than 800 years in most cases blend in with the untouched nature directly on the lagoon coast and are waiting to be discovered by you.
