The castle buildings are once again used entirely by the city administration. The inner courtyards, which are worth seeing, are accessible during normal opening hours and also on weekends.

The gates of the front castle, which was converted into a fire station in 1925, can still be seen on Geschw. Scholl Street.

The expansive palace complex, located in the heart of the town, is divided into a front and rear palace. The three-story tower, with its gateway, connects both palace sections. The rear palace, in particular, with its arcades, is reminiscent of the Renaissance, whose contemporaries the builders, members of the noble family of the Lords of Dieskau, were.

Today, the palace serves as the seat of the city administration and cannot be visited from the inside. Unfortunately, climbing the palace tower is currently not possible either.
