Bermuthshain is a small district of Grebenhain in Vogelsberg in Hesse. Already in the 1950s there was a small ski jump that had been set up by young people interested in ski jumping at "Höllerich" (approx. 570 m above sea level).

In the 1960s, on the initiative of TSV Grebenhain and with the support of the Hessian Ski Association, the construction of a larger ski jump in the community was tackled.

The planning and construction was in the hands of Wilhelm Momberger, an architect and civil engineer from Friedberg in Hesse.
American pioneers helped with the earthworks with their technology.

The ski jump had a 17.5 meter high wooden inrun tower.
The inrun length was about 40 meters.
For summer operation, the ski jumping facility also received a complete Elasdur plastic matting.
As the second plastic covered ski jump in Hesse, it was inaugurated in September 1970 and the ski jump was named after the first skier at Vogelsberg - Wilhelm Dillemuth.

However, the jumping operation only lasted about 10 years, with district championships and regional competitions taking place primarily.
Poor snow conditions in the winter and the declining quality of the matting finally caused the sports facility to be closed.

The construction weathered and demolition was imminent. But as one of the last wooden ski jumps in Germany, the construction was placed under monument protection in 2003.

Today, instead of the ski jump, there is a platform that offers a wonderful view over Bermuthshain and the Vogelsberg nature park.
