The Kulturforum Fürth is located at Würzburger Straße 2 (underground station Stadthalle). It served as a slaughterhouse until 1991, before it was moved to Burgfarrnbach. The owner of the building is the Kulturstiftung Fürth.

After the slaughterhouse was closed, the existing buildings and halls were initially used by various artists for events of all kinds - the site operated under the name "BBC" for a while. After the demolition of most of the buildings, the wasteland was used as a parking lot. The old cattle slaughterhouse was empty most of the time, only the smaller pig slaughterhouse was already used as a cultural venue - and was the forerunner of today's Kulturforum - before the remaining buildings were completely renovated and expanded by the Fürth Cultural Foundation. On January 9, 2004, the gates of the completely renovated house opened. Since that time, the four supporting pillars of the Kulturforum have been: the cultural office, the municipal theatre, the Uferpalast cinema and the restaurant.
