“The Spessart alone frames the bare ground.”
The entire Kahlgrund is basically a Sunday landscape - neat, pleasant, green all the way to the horizon, little traffic and no aircraft noise at all. Most of the towns are located in valleys where all the streams flow that sooner or later flow into the Kahl. At higher altitudes you tend to find small towns with large farms and fruit farms.
There is hardly any old substance left in the town centers and if there is, it is well maintained. Most of the houses were - you can tell from the architectural style - built between 1960 and today and are accordingly modern and always well maintained.
