That is not completely right. During the main crane rest periods, the observation platform is locked in order not to unnecessarily disturb the cranes in the vicinity of the crane panorama. Visitor care is provided exclusively in the Kranorama. The crane protectors ask to respect the ban on visits during the period mentioned.

Observation platform and viewpoint over the Günzer lake. Günzer See is a flat lake in the municipality of Altenpleen in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. It is located 1.6 km from the Bodden coast in the coastal strip in front of the Grabow in the middle of a boggy reed meadow on the L213 from Günz to Buschenhagen (Neu Bartelshagen municipality). In the southern part of the lake there is an island of 0.7 ha. The lake has a north-south extension of about 570 m and a west-east extension of about 300 m. On its east side, near the Chaussee, there is an observation stand ("Utkiek") operated by the crane center in Groß Mohrdorf on stilts. The lake and the surrounding meadows are a popular bird resting area. In addition to various water birds, a. Curlews and cranes.
