The Grauturm (41.4 m high) is one of the highest gate towers in Bavaria.
From the Türmerstube you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the city and the surrounding area of Ebern.
In the lantern of the gray tower dome, the carillon “Angel and Death” announces the quarter and full hours.
The gray tower was built from 1480 onwards from mighty ashlars, the difference of which indicates 3 construction periods.
Most recently, Prince Bishop Julius Echter, whose coat of arms is placed above the passage, had it raised in 1584/85.
Charming on the west corner is the round turret with a half-timbered top and a spiral staircase that leads to a wooden walkway and further up to the top floor.
This tower is considered the landmark of the town of Ebern.
