After a steep climb up the stairs amidst the rocky landscape, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view and fresh forest air.
The Bastei is hidden in a rocky landscape close to Thum's market square, in the forest that stretches between Thum and Herold. You enter through a wooden portal, and a well-marked, romantic forest path leads you further.
Not far from the Bastei is another higher vantage point in the forest, the Georgfelsen, as well as the Wettinplatz, a former manor cemetery.
