The Kreuzstein standing here is considered a natural monument, the exact age of which is not known. In addition to their function as boundary markers, such stone monuments were often erected as atonement for a violent crime.

On the visible side is a Greek cross of 31-31cm carved. The crossbars are 7cm wide. Below the cross is a 45cm long Reuterschapeleleinhauen. The triangular shovel is short over the earth. On the back is a simple Latin cross of 42-20cm carved in the upper half. (Dill 1984)
Legend: According to the legend, a farmer at this point has killed his maid with the Reuterschäufelein.
This is a device used to scrape off plowshares.

I discovered this stone on a snowshoe tour and have always wondered why it is here. Thanks to BBHexe for the information!
There are no signposted hiking trails here, which is why this highlight is likely to be relatively unknown.
