Moratinos was a good stopping point for us. On the way to Santiago just before Sahagun and for us who drive back from Santiago just a bit further than Sahagun to reach Castrojerjiz the next day. There are at least two albergues and very interesting old bodegas - in this case not bars but storage cellars dug into the mound.
