Steel tower with narrow and sometimes steep steel stairs. Be careful when wet, there is a risk of slipping, but otherwise worthwhile views for hikers who are not afraid of heights, especially towards the northwest on Ruhbank and Pirmasens and south towards the Fischbacher and Schönauer Forst

In the 1930s, a wooden tower stood on this site, which was used by the National Socialists for land surveying during the construction of the west wall.
The current steel tower was built two decades later by the French armed forces, which served as a radar station in the 1950s. In the 1970s, it was renovated, painted and made accessible again.

In the middle valley floor lies a large meadow area, what once used to the Americans under the
