The Trier Christmas Market takes place every year from late November to 22 December on the main market and in front of Trier Cathedral.
Nearly 100 wooden houses offer Christmas goods such as Christmas decorations, wooden toys, candles, glasses, gifts, ceramics and much more. For the sustenance is provided. Sausages, pancakes, sweet things and hot tea and mulled wine are offered.

The main market of Trier is the central and one of the largest squares in the city.

It is located in the historic city center directly in front of the cathedral city in today's Mitte/Gartenfeld district. The most important urban commercial streets come together here. In 958, Archbishop Henry I equipped the main market with the market cross as a symbol of sovereignty. The main market was a place for selling goods and trading in the medieval city.

The central square of Trier city center and still the location of the weekly market with many stands. From spring to autumn as well as the pedestrian zone to Porta Nigra, it is mostly hopelessly overcrowded. If you want to enjoy the history here in peace, it is best to come on Sundays in winter (or with a mask during the current Corona lockdown).
